Manzanar

Not so much a "progress" post as this is to show photos I've taken recently.
Which is how i think I'll be using this blog primarily from this point forward,

So today as apart of my Intro to Photo History class, we took a little Saturday "field trip" to the World War II Japanese Internment camp, Manzanar. If you're not familiar with the Japanese internment, essentially it was the result of mass panic fueled by pre-existing prejudices. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor by Japanese fighter planes, the US put into action that all Japanese Americans (whether born as a citizen or an immigrant) be forced to leave their homes only with what they could carry, and live at these internment camps with questionable conditions. It was possibly the most hypocritical event in US history...
But it's not my job to tell you this, if you want to learn more definitely research! Regardless, Manzanar was one of these camps and as such we were sent to photograph the site, and even the sleepy town it was in. As such, below are the photos.
